The Dog House is a purpose built and designed area to give your dog(s) a unique sensory enrichment experience. The area incorporates both an indoor and outdoor space for your exclusive hire, where your dog will enjoy exploring at their own pace, whilst you can observe and see how they behave in this unusual setting.

The Dog House is NOT supervised. It is an owner-led activity. The area (and all equipment in it) are used at your own risk. You are fully responsible and liable for your dog(s) and their safety at all times.

We know dogs get enrichment from their every day walks, but sometimes its nice to do something a little bit different and like us, dogs enjoy a bit of variety.

The area is designed to be used in a calm and relaxing manner. It is not an area intended for dogs to run around to burn off energy. Instead, it is designed to be used to tire the dog mentally by harnessing their senses.

Just a few examples of the sensory enrichment available at The Dog House are:

Sight - Moving objects, wind spinners, colours chosen to appeal, there is plenty for your dog to see.

Sound - Natural bird song, wind chimes, rustling leaves, as well as noise makers for your dog to activate.

Smell - Dog friendly plants, animal fleece, scent work activity/places to hide treats (please bring your own).

Taste - Your dog will enjoy those tasty treats you bring, and the herbs are all dog safe if they choose to nibble.

Touch - Various surfaces & textures to step on, through or brush against.

The area is not limited to providing sensory enrichment. It can also be used as a safe space to work on training, providing both distractions and the security of an enclosed setting.

The indoor area has a selection of puzzle toys for you to use with your dog, not only tiring their brain, but helping them to develop problem solving skills too.

Proprioception is your body's ability to sense its own position, movement and location in space. It is sometimes referred to as the 6th sense. Dogs generally have excellent awareness of their front paws, but their hind leg awareness is sometimes poor. With different objects to step onto, over or through, your dog will be working on their awareness without even realising.

There must be 1 adult to each dog. This is to give time to focus on your dog and work with them whether through training, puzzles or enrichment. It will also enhance the bonding experience you have with your dog.
